Cultural Heritage – National Library

The National Auditorium is a division under Output 1 (Cultural Identity) which holds 5 units under its umbrella, Administration, Property, Events, Technical and Audio Visual Unit. Built-in 1992, the National Auditorium is the largest multi-complex in the Cook Islands.

Events of special cultural significance are held in the National Auditorium as well as international sporting events, conferences and a variety of stage productions.

The National Auditorium is fully equipped with the state of the art sound and lighting systems and has seating for just over 1,700 people. It also have an Audio Visual unit for the filming and the Livestream of events. In 2015 to mark the 50th anniversary of Cook Islands self-governing, two domes were erected to increase the viewing capacity with 2 outdoor screens. The domes have proved to be a very popular venue for birthdaysand wedding receptions, as well as other festivities.

This National Auditorium is regarded as the top venue to hold cultural and events of high expectations.
