Tangi Kaara (Drumming Competition) 2015

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Today the Tangi Kaara, drumming competition was held at the National Auditorium with the total of 5 teams:  Manihiki, Rakahanga, Tupapa Maraenenga, Mitiaro and Puaikura.  The main sponsor for this event was the Bond Store.  A huge number of spectators and supporters were present to witness this competition.  The drumming competition was split into two categories being the Rutu Aru Pee where drummers were given a chant or pee to memorise and use anywhere in their drumbeats.  The Rutu Atu is when the drummers were given the opportunity to create a drum beat anyway they want provided they follow the rules and regulations for this competition.
